Party Pal — Terms of service

Who this is between

Party Pal is a personal project by Mel Lent, not a company. These terms are between you and her. Using the app means you accept them.

Party Pal is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Tech Week, Partiful, Luma or Google.

Who can use it

Party Pal is invite-only while it is in beta. Access is limited to people whose email address has been added to the access list, and it can be withdrawn at any time.

You need to be old enough to hold your own accounts on the services Party Pal reads from — Google, Partiful and Luma — which generally means 13 or older, and older in some countries.

Keep your sign-in to yourself. Anyone who can get into your email can get into your Party Pal account.

What Party Pal does

It collects the events you have been invited to or RSVP'd for, and shows them in one schedule. If you connect a calendar, your own events appear beside them.

It reads event pages using the sessions you are already signed in to, in your own browser. It never asks for or stores your passwords for those sites.

Event details come from the event hosts. Party Pal shows what those pages say — it doesn't verify times, addresses, capacity or whether an event happens at all.

What's expected of you

Use Party Pal for your own schedule. Don't use it to collect other people's information, to resell or republish event data, or to get around a site's own rules.

You are responsible for following the terms of the sites Party Pal reads on your behalf, including Partiful's and Luma's.

Don't try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or use it for anything unlawful.

Your data

What is collected, where it lives and how to remove it is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

You can disconnect a calendar or ask for your account to be deleted at any time. Deleting the account removes the events stored for it.

It comes as it is

Party Pal is free and provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, may lose data, and may show event information that is wrong or out of date.

Decisions you make from what it shows — turning up somewhere, skipping something, relying on a time — are yours. To the fullest extent the law allows, Mel Lent is not liable for any loss arising from using it.

Some places don't allow those limits to be excluded. Where that's true, they apply only as far as the law permits.

Changes and endings

Party Pal is in beta and changes often. Features may appear, change or be removed, and the service may be paused or shut down.

These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the app after that means accepting the new version.

Access may be ended at any time, and you may stop using the app at any time.
